    Vacation Packing Hack

(Scroll down to see the hack) Here’s how vacation packing goes in my house. My husband brings the suitcases up from the basement. He offers to help with “anything”. I decline, because we’d each have a toothbrush and a couple of pairs of underwear, and I get to work. I typically make a list or look at one of my old ones – because packing is packing when it comes to my family. I also gave each of my kids simple instructions to pull some shorts, tees, swimsuits, underwear, and pjs. I’ll do their final packing but it’s usually a good start and gets them involved. Here’s my current Beach…

3 Nights in London, Two Kids – Where we Stayed

I cannot tell you how many hotels that I looked at in London in the months leading up to our recent trip. The most difficult part of finding a hotel, was that we have two kids and we did not want to book two rooms. A lot of the hotels that I looked at in both London and Paris would only accommodate three people or less. We also wanted to stay in a fairly nice hotel, close to a lot of sites and was somewhat of a reasonable price. This was not an easy task, because like NYC and Paris, London is EXPENSIVE. However, I’m not one to back down…

10 Days in London and Paris – What I Packed

We’ve been planning a trip to London and Paris since 2019. I don’t typically plan vacations four years ahead, but Covid changed all of that. So, here we are heading to Europe in November 2022. Since my husband and I will be flying to London from JFK and then taking the train to Paris with our two girls, we want to pack fairly light.  The goal is to get to get all of our stuff into two suitcases –…

    California Dreams – Part II

Last year I found out that I had a work trip to San Diego for a week in October. My husband and I had never been to California and jumped at the chance to turn the work trip into an amazing 9 day family vacation. After all, who wouldn’t want to fly cross country with a 7 year old and a 1 1/2 year old? I’ll admit, embarking on a 9 day trip with 2 young kids to a place we’d never been before, did seem a little bit intimidating. But in the end this journey ended up being the trip of a lifetime thanks to some VERY careful planning…

Where I Found the Best Ever Santa Train

For years friends had been sharing pictures and experiences that they’d had on local Polar Express and Santa Trains. I knew that it would be something that my kids would really enjoy but I wasn’t sure which one to choose. So last year I researched some area trains in the Philadelphia suburbs and even one in New Jersey. There were actually quite a few of them. I noticed that some of the trains could be really expensive – more than $100 per ticket. Some of the trains reviews weren’t that great – things like…the train being cold and not very comfortable and serving cold hot chocolate and running out of…
