Easy Homemade Granola
Our family loves to munch on granola as a snack or for breakfast with some fruit and yogurt. I try to avoid store bought granola because a lot of it is filled with more junk than good stuff. I started making my own granola after a friend shared her homemade granola recipe a few years ago. Since then, I’ve modified her amazing recipe slightly to fit our tastes. (This recipe also easily be made as a gluten free option.)
Grab a big bowl and all of your ingredients. Some of the granola ingredients are optional or depend on your taste preferences (for example: do you prefer pecans or walnuts or no nuts), but it’s really easy to modify.
Preheat oven to 300 degrees
Ingredients
6 cups of rolled oats
1/2 cup of pecans (or any kind of nut you prefer)
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp honey
1/3 cup orange juice or pineapple juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 tsp vanilla

Cooking Spray
1/4 cup dried cranberries or raisins (optional)

Directions
Combine the first 8 ingredients and spread evenly on a baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 30-45 minutes at 300 degrees. Stir occasionally.
Remove from the oven when it starts to brown slightly. Stir in your cranberries or raisins. Let cool and store in an air tight container. I typically keep mine in a gallon glass jar.
Serve over yogurt & fruit or as a crunchy snack.

I’ll have to try this! I’ve been looking for healthy meals and snacks for my family and think my husband and daughter would love this with some yogurt or fruit

Oooh, I’m glad for this recipe! I have been needing to make this for the fam. We love granola and I keep purchasing instead of making my own which is so unlike me.
